Version 2.3.4 — Released 21 October 2008:
- Mac: Hotkeys may now be single function keys.
- Mac: Pro Feature: Brightness hotkeys may now adjust by a percentage value, if desired.
- Mac: Pro Feature: Preset Sets can be set to apply at startup, which overrides the application preference Restore previous gamma values on program launch. Startup Preset Sets may be specified in the Edit Preset Sets window.
- Mac: Pro Feature: Scheduling Window: Added the option to schedule AppleScript execution in addition to gamma fades.
- In the Edit Event window, two radio buttons appear in the Event Details region: Gamma Change and Run AppleScript. Selecting Gamma Change presents the same options as earlier versions, and Run AppleScript allows you to execute an AppleScript that is in one of DarkAdapted Pro's AppleScripts folders (alongside the DarkAdapted application; and the /Library/Scripts/DarkAdapted Pro Scripts/ folder).
- When editing a scheduled AppleScript, you may select the desired AppleScript from the AppleScript pop-up menu.
- When editing a scheduled AppleScript, a control labeled Run this AppleScript only at the specified minute appears. Enabling this control will run a scheduled AppleScript only if DarkAdapted Pro and the machine are running (and not sleeping) during the scheduled minute. If this control is enabled and the machine is asleep during the scheduled execution minute, the AppleScript will not run. If Run this AppleScript only at the specified minute is not selected, the most recent event — if it is an AppleScript — will execute when returning from sleep, or when launching DarkAdapted Pro.
- If the scheduled AppleScript cannot be found (because, for example, it was deleted or renamed), then DarkAdapted simply beeps at the scheduled time, and does not execute the Event.
- Mac: Pro Feature: Scheduling has been enhanced:
- If the machine wakes from sleep — and multiple events were scheduled to occur during the sleep time — DarkAdapted Pro now only implements the last unimplemented event. Previously, several “missed” events could occur in rapid succession when waking the machine from sleep.
- When first launching DarkAdapted Pro or closing the Scheduling window — and when scheduled events are enabled — DarkAdapted Pro now checks to see which “past” event should be active, and implements that event.
- Edit Event window’s Time of Day control now allows direct numeric entry from the keyboard, in addition to changing the time's value using the up/down arrows control.
- Multiple events that occur at the exact same time now execute properly, and in the same order in which they appear in the Scheduling window.
- Events listing now features zebra striping.
- Events may now be drag-reordered, which can affect the order in which multiple events execute, if they are scheduled for the same exact time. Drag-reordering also clears the sort column highlight.
- When creating a new Event, the default Event Name is now unique (i.e., not used by any existing Event).
- If any scheduled events specify that a Preset should be selected by name, and the Preset has been renamed or deleted, DarkAdapted Pro presents a notice when the Scheduling Window first opens. This warning is also displayed if a scheduled AppleScript has been renamed or deleted. After presenting the error dialog, DarkAdapted Pro selects the event(s) containing errors for your review.
- Scheduling Window now saves its sort column and direction.
- Mac: Pro Feature: DarkAdapted Pro now looks for AppleScripts in /Library/Scripts/DarkAdapted Pro Scripts/ folder in addition to the AppleScripts folder alongside DarkAdapted Pro.
- Preferences Window: Miscellaneous Options: Refresh gamma values now defaults to “on” with a period of 5 seconds. This only affects new installations, and will not affect existing settings.
- Waking from sleep will now refresh screen gamma(s) within 2 seconds, if machine has been in sleep mode for more than 3 minutes.
- Edit menu's Edit Presets... and Edit Preset Sets... now function without a Control window open.
- System-wide menu commands that bring DarkAdapted to the front now do so with a delay of 0.25 seconds, to work around window layering issues.
- Fixed bug on some testing setups where Color Picker would appear invisibly after first access.
- Updated documentation.
