ScopeDriver 1.3 Released 12 September 2002
- First Windows release.
- Documentation fully updated.
- Fixed bug where LX200 Classic Slew Rate could be reported as zero when ScopeDriver was first used.
- Fixed bug where Alignment popup menu could appear blank when connecting to a telescope after using Test Mode.
- Redraw Main Window key shortcut changed to
OPTION/ALT+SHIFT+ click.
- Import of text files now skips invisible files.
- Many Mac support files in the ScopeDriver Data Folder files may now be opened by double-clicking.
- Park command changed to always terminate telescope connection.
- Added “Night Vision Darkness” submenu to Edit menu, which allows setting three darkness levels.
- Export Observing Log window now allows drag reordering.
- Observing Log: Reordering entries now possible via dragging.
COMMAND-up/down arrows still work for single selections; drag-reordering works on multiple selection.
- Observing Lists: Reordering entries now possible via dragging (“Move Up” and “Move Down” buttons removed). Drags are, of course, undoable.
COMMANDup/down arrow still reorders single selections, but you may drag multiple items to reorder.
- Observing Lists: Resizing columns now possible via dragging. Columns may be hidden by dragging all the way to the left. Column widths and visibility are saved with the individual Observing List files.
- Changed Resync with Hand Control command to set Alignment Mode instead of reading it (works around Autostar bug).
- Fixed odd About Box colors under Mac OS 10.2.
- Changed menu command for Night Vision Mode to
COMMAND+SHIFT+N.
- Made Night Vision Mode darker, with better support for multiple colors (for example, Green highlighting no longer appears black).
- Lengthened Night Mode exit time for a less shocking return to brightness. :-)
- Observing Lists now support Undo and Redo, up to 10 steps. Undoable actions include sorting, moving, deleting, editing, and adding entries.
- Observing Lists now report the current R.A. and Dec., considering precession, for all objects identified by coordinates and orbital elements.
- Sorting implemented for R.A. and Dec. in Observing Lists.
- Changed telescope type in Connect Window to be clearer about LX200 Classic and LX200 GPS.
- Totally rewrote auto-update code (assists in moving files when updating).
- Fixed version checking in support files.
- Fixed bug in precessing coordinates where extremely small declination values, or values within a degree of the SCP, could be reported as positive declinations.
- Main support files changed to “ScopeDriver Object Data” and “ScopeDriver LX200 Classic XD.” The latter file only loads when an LX200 “Classic” is connected.
- “Pause Connection” menu item added to the Telescope menu, so that you can use other programs without quitting ScopeDriver.
- Slew Rate numeric display in Main Window now updates properly when using an LX200.
- Fixed spurious connection warning which appeared after a communication failure.
- Connection attempt window now displays for the duration of the attempt, instead of disappearing while you wondered if a connection was really going to happen. :-)
- Fixed odd text that was being sent to telescope when setting Park Azimuth.
- “Web” menu changed to “Special.”
- Mac OS X: Crash fixed in Demo mode.
- When a connection is active, ScopeDriver now asks for a confirmation before quitting.
- Moved Communication Window control to Startup Prefs Window.
- Changed maximum Command Delay to 30 (was 8).
- Streamlined “stop telescope” command to be less verbose.
- Fixed situation where serial port would occasionally not be released on quit.
- Clicking the mouse now cancels a slew in progress, in addition to pressing any key.
- Mac Small System font fixed in Mac OS X.
